Project on English language learning and fostering
an international learning atmosphere

The Languages Department organized English Activities to create an international atmosphere to promote and develop students’ skills according to 21st-century skills and to align with the expected learning outcomes of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) as follows:

PLO 1 is able to communicate effectively in both English and Thai languages in common situations.

PlO2 is able to select IT in various situations appropriately.

PLO3 is able to adapt in the global society based on an understanding of social development.

PLO4 is able to develop oneself in thinking processes.

Objectives of the activity are;

1. To promote students’ skills according to the expected learning outcomes.
2. To develop students’ English language skills to be ready to study regular courses in English as well as to graduate.
3. To promote English language learning skills and create an international learning atmosphere.
4. To encourage students to be familiar with and confident in using English in everyday life
5. To encourage students to have a positive attitude towards English.

  1. Manuscript title ” Writing on the Internet: Formative Online Writing and Feedback Using Write About” written by Aj. Nur Lailatur Rofiah has been accepted for publication in “Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development” on Scopus Index, Q1 (97%)
  2. Manuscript title “Covid-19 and Two Sides of the Coin of Religiosity” written by Dr. Mark Treve has been published in “HTS Theologies Studies/Theological Studies” on Scopus Index, Q1

SOLGEN organized Fit For Fun 2022

School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) organized a project to develop students’ physical fitness in general education course (Fit for Fun 2022).

On 22-26 August 2022 at the Gymnasium, Walailak University, SOLGEN organized 5 physical fitness test activities for  students, including a measure of flexibility, fat percentage measurements, lung capacity measurements, leg muscle strength, and hand compression measurements. The tests allow students to use the data to plan for their own health and to choose the right sport. There are 346 students attend this activity.

SOLGEN organized SOLGEN Journey Project

The Working Group for Developing and Empowering Student to be “Intelligent Virtue & Happy” School of Languages and General Education. The School of Languages and General Education organized Journey Project has a story on August 17, 2022, 13:00 – 17:00, at the main conference room (1,500 seats), Thaiburi Building, Walailak University.

To provide opportunities for students to show their leadership potential in participating in activities. and let students know more about School of Languages and General Education and Walailak University
Prepare to adapt happily to the changes in society and the new environment within the university.The event included Something about Solgen activity, telling stories around the fence, WU Secret, WU Life Style, WU Shock, performances from Kritsanai Sawet Silaktakorn, WU Cover Dance Club and WU Band Club.

SOLGEN Language Testing Center Organized an English Proficiency Test (WUTEP) for Students at Benchamaratchuthit School, Nakhon Si Thammarat

On August 6, 2022, the Language Proficiency Testing Center , School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN Language Testing Center) Provides the Walailak University Test of English Proficiency (WUTEP) for Grade 1 students. Project to manage teaching according to the Ministry of Education program in English or English Program for 120 students from Benchamaratchuthit School Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Walailak University Test of English Proficiency (WUTEP) Suitable for measuring the level of proficiency in English for academic purposes. Both at the high school, bachelor’s and graduate levels The WUTEP test is divided into 4 skills, which measures four areas of English language skills: listen(Listening), reading(Reading), write(Writing), and speak (Speaking).

SOLGEN Organized Personality Development Projects
and Professional Make-Up

The Working Group for Developing and Empowering Student to be “intellectual, good & Happy”, School of Languages and General Education led by Miss Nasita Kongtawee, a lecturer of SOLGEN organized a personality development program and professional make-up.Lectured on the topic “Personality Development”by Miss Pavirasa Praditsorn lecturer and the topic “makeup techniques suitable for work” by Mr. Khundee Lamsub. On August 3, 2022, at Room 5201, Academic Building 5, Walailak University. 

To develop the personality of every student in preparation for work including promoting and developing students to be “good, good, happy” in terms of leadership development leading to an image of expertise credibility and enhancing students’ good image in preparing them to enter a new society.

Happy National Thai Language Day 2022

เนื่องในวันภาษาไทยแห่งชาติ 2565 คณะทำงานศิลปวัฒนธรรม สำนักวิชาพหุภาษาและการศึกษาทั่วไป ได้เชิญชวนอาจารย์ชาวต่างชาติมาพูดคำคม แคปชั่นเด็ดจากโซเชียลในภาษาไทยกัน ทั้งนี้การอนุรักษ์ภาษาไทยมิใช่เพียงแค่การพูดให้ถูกตามบรรทัดฐานเดิมเท่านั้น แต่การใช้ภาษาไทยสามารถใช้ให้ถูกต้องเหมาะสมกับบริบทและกาลเทศะอีกด้วย ตามธรรมชาติของภาษาที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามสภาพสังคมในปัจจุบัน #อย่าลืมใช้ภาษาไทยให้ถูกต้องตามบุคคล โอกาส เวลาและสถานที่

SOLGEN Organized Training Activities for Tennis Skills

 
 On July 19-22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the tennis court.
School of Languages and General Education led by Assistant Professor Doctor Luckhana Srisongkram Pimjan lecturer in the Department of General Education Organize training activities for tennis skills with the honor of lecturer Dusit Promon expert in tennis skills as a guest speaker Walailak University students were interested in participating in the activity, about 25 people.

SOLGEN Organize planting trees project to appreciate the land and raise awareness of environmental conservation.

The project purpose is to appreciate the land and raise awareness of environmental conservation

This project is leaded by Assistant Professor Dr. Rungruang Janta in order to meet the goals of Walailak University to develop graduates to have high competitiveness under the concept of “good in academics, expertise in practice” and to be quality graduates. In addition, the School provided slogan contest and announced the winners.

1st prize is 500 baht

Phitsanu Rattanupakon School of Engineering and Technology

Slogan: Plant a little forest, help reduce toxins, save lives, save the world.

2nd prize is 300 baht

Sathanon Wongsakul School of Political Science and Public Administration
