SOLGEN Presents “Between Shores” — An Experimental Performance Inspiring Aesthetic Dialogue

“The School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) recently presented “Between Shores”, an experimental performance created by storyteller-artist Sutharat Sinnong of Homemade Puppet.

The performance explored narrative creation through movement, spatial composition, distance, objects, light, and shadow — allowing audiences to engage their imagination and personal experiences in interpreting the unfolding scenes.

Originally developed during the artist’s residency in Paris, France, the piece was first staged in Thailand at the Bangkok Theatre Festival. Its presentation at Walailak University marked the second performance in the country.

Held over two rounds on 30–31 January 2026, the event welcomed more than one hundred attendees of various age groups. The performance became a shared aesthetic space for dialogue and reflection on themes such as womanhood, motherhood, life journeys, social constraints, obstacles, and the “shadows” that accompany us.

Rather than offering definitive conclusions, Between Shores invited open-ended interpretation, encouraging thoughtful reflection and personal meaning-making.

SOLGEN extends its sincere appreciation to Sutharat Sinnong for inspiring creativity and fostering meaningful artistic engagement. The School looks forward to future encounters along our own journeys “between shores.”
