On January 6, 2022 at the Administration Building, Walailak University, Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayudhya, an Acting Dean of School of Languages and General Education with Head of Languages Department, Head of General Education Department, and Head of Research Department presented the baskets to Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, and Associate Professor Dr. Charun Bunyakan, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs to express gratitude and blessings for the New Year festival.

SOLGEN arranged handing over responsibility

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) arranged a handover ceremony to the new dean of the SOLGEN at Phasaphasarn room, C5. There were Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwong Na Ayutthaya, Acting Dean of the SOLGEN, Associate Professor Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee, Dean of School of Science, together with the executives, the SOLGEN board committee, and chairs of working groups joined the handover ceremony on the occasion of Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwong Na Ayudhya will end his duties as Dean on January 7, 2022 and Associate Professor Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee will serve as Dean from January 8, 2022 onwards.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwong Na Ayudhya gave a congratulatory speech to Associate Professor Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee of being appointed by Walailak University to play the role of Dean of SOLGEN. He also summarized the history and results of the two years since SOLGEN was established in November 2019 and delivered the mission that is on the way to ensure continuity for the administration of the school as well as thanking the management team of SOLGEN which makes SOLGEN continually develop and have outstanding outcomes in every aspect.

Term 1/2021, School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) have lecturers who received teaching evaluation result in excellent level (up 4.50 score ) which have 15 people  (29.41% of the total faculty members)

SOLGEN arranging the 1st Leadership Meeting for Fiscal Year 2022

On November 10, 2021, the School of Languages and General Education #SOLGEN held a meeting of leaders. (Driving the school to an organization of excellence working group) No. 1 of the fiscal year 2022 to clarify plans to drive the school to be in accordance with the indicators set by the university at Phasaphasan room, academic building 5.


At the meeting, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayuthaya, Acting Dean of the School of Laguages and General Education, the Executives and Chairperson of the working groups in Fiscal Year 2022 attended the meeting in unison with an agenda to set goals to drive the school and discuss strategic plans to achieve the specified indicators and goals.

SOLGEN Research Publication Achievement Fiscal Year 2021

The School of Languages and General Education #SOLGEN has driven a 1:1 research publication policy in line with its policy of entering universities by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, or THE Impact Rankings, England.

SOLGEN’s performance in fiscal year 2021 has published research articles  on the SCOPUS international index, a total of 47 articles were listed in Quartile 1 (Q1) 51.1%, Quartile 2 (Q1) 34%, with 27 articles published 1:1 are 57%.

In terms of research funding, SOLGEN faculty members received research grants from public and private organizations with a total value of 5,446,071 baht and internal research funds with a total value of 897,983 baht.

School of Languages and General Education (#SOLGEN) congratulations to lecturer who have received UKPSF from Advance Higher Education, United Kingdom in October 2021 consists of 2 people who received a recognition of Fellow:

The Success of Driving the School's Personnel to Certify UKPSF

The School of Languages and General Education, #SOLGEN, is pleased to announce the success of driving the school’s personnel  to certify the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).

SOLGEN has over 91 percent of lecturers who are eligible to submit the application.


In the past, the school has a policy to drive and support personnel to be certified. In fiscal year 2021, the school has established the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) and UKPSF mentors to create strategy UKPSF application writing workshops are organized for lecturer who have not yet submitted applications. The school also supports translation services and English proofreading services.


SOLGEN currently has 40 UKPSF certified lecturer, divided into:
