On September 9th, 2020, Prof.Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the President of Walailak University gave bouquets of flowers to Asst.Prof.Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwong, Dean of School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) and the lecturers for receiving recognition of Senior Fellow and Fellow by Advance Higher Education, UK.

SOLGEN organized Research Strategic Plan Meeting  on 14th August 2020 at Phasaphasan room, Academic Building 5, Walailak University.

Assistant Professor Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayuthaya, Acting Dean of SOLGEN  gave a welcome speech to 35 participants. Then  Dr. Amporn Marddent, Acting Head of Research Department reported on the objectives of the meeting that the Research Department had conducted a meeting for brainstorming to find the way lecturers could publish research articles 1:1 as university policy to be front tier research university.

The Dean said in the end of the meeting that “the School are going to develop research progress that related to the university direction. We are glad to support every offered profit to lecturers.”

SOLGEN Research Department organized Research Human Ethics Workshop on 25th June 2020 at Phasaphasan Room, Academic Building 5 Walailak University.

We were very grateful having  honer guest  Asst. Prof. Dr. Udomsak Saengow, Director of Research Institute for Health Sciences to suggest on the topic “Review of research trend related to SOLGEN and suggest for research direction in the future”

Further, we also having  honer guest Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuchard Punsawad, Chairman of Human Research Ethics Committee of Walailak University to speak on the topic “Request human research ethics and awareness”

SOLGEN Team have learned from them with great appreciation.

The Languages Department, School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Matthew Colin Morrill, Mr. Simon Moxon, and Miss Lillian Yvette Jimenez for their contribution, on August 20, 2020, in the listening part of the latest WUTEP set.

 

On Feb 5, 2020, School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) organized the first School meeting including all lecturers from both GE and Languages Department with Walailak University President Prof.Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong and Vice President, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Surin Maisrikrod. At the beginning of the meeting, Asst.Prof.Dr.Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse ( Dean of SOLGEN ) Presented the school report to all members which was followed by remarks by WU President and Vice President. Finally, All the faculty members and staff of SOLGEN took a memorial photo of our first School meeting.
