The Department of General Education at the School of Languages and General Education (SOLGEN) hosted a Korean cooking event featuring ‘Tteokbokki’ on November 17, 2023. This event was part of the Korean Language and Culture Learning Project for the 2nd semester of 2023. Mr. Juong Seungeun, a Korean Language Lecturer from Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, and Mr. Kim Ji Hyung, a Korean volunteer lecturer from Walailak University, led the activity. It took place at the Walailak Culinary Training Center and was designed for students enrolled in the free elective course, GED65-117 Foreign Language and Culture. During the event, students practiced their Korean language skills with native speakers and learned how to cook ‘Tteokbokki.’ This hands-on experience helped them understand Korean culture and the differences between languages and cultures.
