The School of Languages and General Educations (SOLGEN) takes care of students during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

During the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Walailak University has strict surveillance of the epidemic. In this trimester, it is necessary to provide online teaching in all subjects, which affects the lives and studies of students, especially the 1st year students (new students) who recently stayed in the university dormitory.

SOLGEN, who is responsible for teaching general education courses had the opportunity to meet students in every course this trimester, realizing that the students are quite affected. In addition, they also have to adjust themselves for the learning level changes, relocation, etc. We, therefore, made an appointment with some student representatives at the Student Activities Building on July 15, 2021 to ask about the problems and limitations that students face during this time in terms of living, adjusting to university, learning management, living, and eating during the day in the dormitory areas. In this regard, foods that can be stored at room temperature were prepared and gave to students to alleviate the inconvenience of eating in order to support the university in taking care of students.

On July 21, 2021, Asst.Prof.Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse, An Acting Dean of School of Languages and General Education as a representative of SOLGEN, provided food, drink, medicine, and personal care products to WU Student Administrative Organization in order to distributed the stuff to the students.

Also, the lecturers and the students followed the COVID-19 prevention measures strictly by wearing surgical masks and keep distance during the activity.
